The inter-house sports day was held at the NCC grounds at 8:30 a.m. on the 27th of May 2023. The event commenced with the house reps unfurling the house flags, Mrs. Hiranya Fernando unfurling the College flag and Ms. Ruwandi de Mel, treasurer of the OGA unfurling the National flag. Although we were blessed with rain in true Methodist College style, the sun shone for the rest of the day in time for the arrival of the chief guest, Mrs. Priyani Fernando and a beautifully choreographed performance by the school Hewisi band. It was really a day of healthy, fun competition and fellowship with members performing well on the track and in relays. Shire and Scott emerged joint winners after an unsuccessful tie breaker (when the tug of war rope snapped in two!)
